As much I wanted to be part of these year’s PAFF it was hard for me because of the passing of my Mother but after talking with my family and the support of friends I decide to participate.

So I was battling it out with my good friends and fellow Latinos chefs Paola Solorzano[Mexico], Natalia Martinez[Colombia], Cristian Heisen [Chile], Lenis Ascaliano[Venezuela]

The vote was very close, and the winner with the best overall empanada was Lenis Ascaliano with her Venezuelan version..

I took the most original prize with a sweet empanada that I made in memory of my mother cuz she always liked her sweets . I made a empanada stuff with quince and queso fresco , I made the dough with lots of butter, almonds, AP flower, eggs and milk.

It’s my second time in Cartagena de Indias, I was there two years ago and I just love fell in love with this city, The history, art, food and its people, make this city  unforgettable.

I visited Castillo San Felipe (San Felipe Castle) Located on the Hill of San Lázaro, this fortress was built by the Spanish in the 1600s. I admired the breathtaking views of old Cartagena and the sea from atop the hill.

Cartagena at night

I went to the Bóvedas district, an area known for its craft stores, art galleries and the night life is just amazing.
